Hope Wilderness Chapel

The Hope Wilderness Chapel is a replica of churches from the 1800’s. Handcrafted, the chapel features local materials including native short-leaf pine logs, rough-sawn oak flooring and an eastern red cedar ceiling. The chapel’s back wall, made entirely of windows, frames a picturesque view of one of many waterfalls at Dogwood Canyon for an ideal backdrop for your special day. The Wilderness Chapel seats 120 guests and is available for weddings, vow renewals, meetings, and special services. We also have a certified wedding planner on site to ensure that no detail is left unattended.

The first parcels of the property were acquired in 1990 by Johnny Morris, founder/CEO of Bass Pro Shops. The park is owned and managed by the Dogwood Canyon Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the canyon’s natural plant and wildlife environment. The Foundation promotes environmental conservation by maintaining the park and providing the public with an unspoiled setting for exploration and the enjoyment of various outdoor activities.

The purposes of the Dogwood Canyon Foundation are to promote natural conservation and preservation, and to preserve the natural environment and its wildlife and plant life by acquiring and maintaining ecologically significant, undeveloped land and preserving it for the benefit of the general public. To achieve its purpose, the Foundation owns, operates and maintains Dogwood Canyon Nature Preserve.
