Careers at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park

At Dogwood Canyon, we strive to connect people to the outdoors by joining them outside in our 10,000 acre nature park where the natural beauty includes towering bluffs, waterfalls, creek beds, hand-crafted bridges and wildlife such as bison, elk and whitetail deer. We are looking for dedicated people who are passionate about the outdoors!

Our volunteer team is essential in providing a fun and educational experience for all of our guests, while they illustrate how they get outside and why it’s so important.  Volunteering at Dogwood Canyon

 Greeters and Activities Greeter

As a Greeter at Dogwood Canyon, you’re the first person to welcome guests to the park. While you answer general questions about activity options and help direct guests to their desired location, you’ll make the start of their visit easy and exciting!

As an Activities Greeter, you’ll make sure our guests know the appropriate steps to enjoy their desired activities, such as bike-riding, joining a Segway tour, and fishing. By answering last minute questions about the park and directing guests to their desired location, you help ensure that everyone’s adventure into Dogwood Canyon is safe and fun!

Canyon Guides

As a Canyon Guide, you’ll have the opportunity to share the history of Dogwood Canyon and educate our guests about local wildlife and plant life. In the Mill and Artifact Hall, you’ll assist in millstone demonstrations and help showcase findings from the Native Americans that once inhabited the area.

The Nature and Conservation Center and attached Treehouse are the hub of conservation education at Dogwood Canyon, and volunteers maintain exhibits, assist with educational programs, and help to ensure that all of our guests enjoy an interactive learning adventure!

The Dogwood Canyon Docents are a group of educators that take outdoor education a step further. Following several weeks of training, docents are able to share their love of the outdoors and wildlife in a truly meaningful way.

With a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, our docents are able to teach conservation education programs related to their own field of interests and assist our Activities department in making Dogwood Canyon educational, interactive, and fun!
