 Walking & Hiking

Overview

Our 6.5 mile paved walking trail guides you past beautiful limestone bluffs and tumbling waterfalls, over bridges formed of native stone or hand-crafted wrought iron, and a covered bridge of Amish construction. Our beautiful rainbow trout swim in clear spring-fed waters, easily visible as you pass by. Native Ozark wildlife can be seen throughout the wilderness park as you walk or hike on the many trails available.

  • For the safety of our guests and the protection of our wildlife, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters and alcohol are not permitted. Dogs on leashes are allowed at Dogwood Canyon but require registration at the General Store (no other pets).

 Biking

Overview

Biking is not only an enjoyable hobby but also a great form of exercise and no place is better suited for it than Dogwood Canyon. You can bring your own bike or rent a single-speed, coaster-brake bike in a variety of sizes (including kiddie carts). The path is paved and gently sloping, and is shared by walkers and trams.

Self Guided Fishing

Overview

One of Dogwood Canyon’s greatest appeals is the sparkling, spring-fed water that is home to our magnificent rainbow trout. There is no place better suited to introduce a young person to fishing than the streams of Dogwood Canyon. Enjoy hourly self-guided catch and release or catch and keep fishing. From the novice to the more experienced, there’s nothing like the thrill of hooking a rainbow trout. No license or trout stamp is required. Tackle and rental rods are available.

Fly Fishing Academy

Overview

We are proud to announce the all new Dogwood Canyon Fly Fishing Academy – a hands-on, outdoor learning adventure for anglers of all experience levels. The unique Academy offers fly casting clinics, multi-day fly fishing schools, fly tying classes and guided catch and release fishing – everything you need to get hooked on the art of fly fishing. The Academy also serves to educate the whole family on an all-day fishing trip with a kid friendly learning environment and a creekside meal.

Horseback Riding

Overview

Horseback riding at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park allows you to explore the Ozarks through the eyes of early settlers, discovering areas of the park not seen by the tram or from walking and biking trails. Located right along Little Indian Creek, the new Little Indian Stables has 24 stalls and gives guests the chance to meet the horses before setting out on their horseback adventure. Experienced wranglers guide guests on a leisurely ride while exploring ridges, hollows, old logging roads and other scenic views. We offer 1-hour horseback rides, or for more experienced guests wanting a longer horseback experience, we offer our Little Indian Lunch Ride! This ride is approximately 2 ½ hours with a break for lunch.

Overview

Modern innovation comes to the wilderness! After a brief training session, you’ll see the park in style as technology and the wilderness meet. Along the 90-minute guided tour you’ll learn the history of the park and experience the adventure of traveling via Segway through Dogwood Canyon’s most breathtaking sites. On this round trip tour you’ll even make a stop to feed the beautiful rainbow trout at the Glory Hole, a magnificent blue-green pool where some of our largest trout reside. We also offer advanced Segway tours for more experienced riders on a round trip tour to Wishbowl Falls.

 Wildlife Tram Tours

Daily Wildlife Tram Tours

Overview

Call it a “ride on the wild side.” Step aboard our comfortable, open-air trams and explore the beauty of Dogwood Canyon on our very informative 2-hour narrated Wildlife Tram Tour. You’ll wind through the canyon floor, past towering bluffs and waterfalls, and make stops at the 1800's-style Hope Wedding Chapel, Thunder Falls Crossing to feed the fish, and Glory Hole (a magnificent blue-green pool where some of our largest trout reside). Then, cross the Arkansas border and enter the Bison~Elk Country pasture where you'll encounter some of the largest residents of Dogwood Canyon, American bison, elk, whitetail deer and Texas longhorn.

Saturday Dinner Tram Tour

Overview

The same incredible "ride on the wild side" as the daily Wildlife Tram Tour above but on Saturday evenings (5:30pm-8:30pm), from May 19 through September 29, we top this tour off with a full meal at the Chuckwagon site, entertainment, and s’mores for dessert. A perfect date night for a family or with that special someone! (Total experience is approximately 3 hours).

Overview

This is the most “up close and personal” way to view the park with a guide. Offered year round, with limited availability, this guided tour offers parties of one to three people a close look into the heart of Dogwood Canyon. You'll get a view of the park, by way of back-country logging roads, only seen on this Private Tour or horseback. Watch the video below for a glimpse of the fun you'll have.
