Dogwood Canyon will be open with limited access.
(Discounted admission price.)

Temporary Operating hours: 8:30am – 5:00 pm
Grill hours: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Mill, Artifact Hall, Education Center and Treehouse will be open as normal.

The park will be accessible up to Glory Hole (about 2 miles into the park) via modified 
Wildlife Tram tour (at disounted rate), walking, biking, and Segway (weather permitting.)
Segway, hiking, walking, or biking beyond Glory Hole will not be permitted.
Private tours and trout fishing are not yet available.

NOTICE: Taney County residents and Big Cedar Lodge guests will receive 25% off general admission at the
Dogwood Canyon ticket counter while the Long Creek Bridge on MO-86 is under construction beginning June 3, 2019.

Live Animal Encounters

Presented by Wonders of Wildlife, get up close and learn about birds of prey and animals like snakes, hedgehogs, owls, hawks and more!

Stone-age Survival Skills

See demonstrations of flint knapping, friction fire, cordage and other tools, weapons and clothing employed by our prehistoric ancestors. These live demonstrations are complimentary.

Foraging in the Ozarks

Join us for a mosey around the canyon to learn about wildflowers, edible and medicinal plants, and a bit about local archaeology. Bring binoculars if you have them, as there’s always a possibility to see beautiful songbirds and other Ozarks wildlife!

StoryWalk® Hike:

Storywalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story (a deconstructed book, page by page) along Hickory Ridge Trail.

Discovery Stations

Our stations provide a casual, yet engaging educational opportunity for families and children to learn about nature through hands-on crafts, activities and tabletop displays. This activity is complimentary. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Nature & Conservation Program

Join us in the Nature & Conservation Center classroom for a short hands-on nature program and create your own nature craft to take home!

Nature Lab

In these walk up workshops guests can participate in hands-on guided nature investigations and experiments.  Labs are walkup attendance only.  All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  Activity is included with admission.

Trailside Science Stations

Be sure to stop by our trailside activity stations while you’re out in the canyon! The stations feature a rotation of wildlife artifacts, table top activities and information about plants and wildlife in the park. Talk with our knowledgeable staff and learn something new about the natural wonders that call this place home.

Forest Explorers Guided Hike

Come along as we explore each layer of the forest from the floor to the canopy in this hands-on nature hike! All supplies are provided including binoculars, magnifying glasses, tweezers and butterfly nets.

Dogwood Hike

Join the Dogwood Canyon activities team for a guided flowering dogwood hike as we wander through the park to see the wild dogwood trees in bloom! Trail surfaces will include both paved and unpaved surfaces with potential elevation gain of over 300 feet. Activity is free with admission.

Birding in the Canyon

Come celebrate World Migratory Bird Day while “Birding in the Canyon!” Spring migration will be in full swing so grab your binoculars and join expert birder and naturalist Bo Brown for a guided walk in the morning, then stick around for a special presentation on warblers in the nature center. In the afternoon, families can sign up for a bird call workshop to make their own take-home bird call! Bo Brown will be available to mingle and talk birds during the “birding walk-about” outside the nature center. Bird call workshop has a participation fee of $3. Workshop space is limited. Register in advance at dogwoodcanyon.org. All other Birding in the Canyon activities are complimentary with valid park admission.

Amphitheater Program
